People often ask me why in the world are you getting into Pond and Lawn Ornaments. Well, to be honest, because I love to relax. It's kind of funny that someone will go through weeks or even months of hard work just to relax.  I tell you what, there is no better way to start the day than to grab a cup of coffee and head out to the pond. To sit there and hear the waterfall, watch the fish, and enjoy the fruits of you labor, there is nothing like it. Although I would suggest that you work for a friendly boss that will understand you being late for work all the time.

My wife and I started with ponds around four years ago. No, we are not your typical "We've been doing this for 300 years" type of people. But I can tell you this, almost everything that we have done, even after all the research, we did wrong.  Talk about the school of hard knocks. Through trial and error we have figured out every problem that has come up.  Believe me, there will be many. What we have learned during these short years is that there is no perfect way to design, build, and maintain a pond.  Everything that you see in a persons pond, is their personal idea of what they think it should be.  There is no right or wrong here folks.

Now, reference the cement art.  Well, to be honest again, this one is pure greed.  After years of collecting many pieces, and spending thousands of dollars to boot. I thought to myself, wow why no make these, sell them so everyone can afford them and make some money on the side.  That is what I'm doing. Believe me, after researching this, I am so disappointed in myself for paying what I was for these pieces.  Now do not get me wrong, everyone deserves to make a buck here and there, but I feel more people could enjoy this if it was not so painful paying all those high prices.  For example, on vacation one year we saw a very nice 24" gargoyle for sale. It was aged and very impressive, although it had a high price tag of lets say near a hundred dollars, we purchased it.  After researching the cost of materials, and the cost per pour of the mold, I figured it costs this person around thirteen dollars to make it. So you can see the incredible markup on these cement lawn art pieces. My goal concerning cement art is not to be a millionaire, but to do something that I enjoy, and pricing them so that many other can experience that joy also.
